    MEANINGLESS DOUBTS

A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of beautiful marbles. The girl had some candies with her. The boy…

    • Hi Tania….its funny how we expect people to think as we ourselves do…until we learn different…if we cheat we expect others would do the same…it doesn’t always follow….

  • A fireman came from work one day and told his wife, “You know, we have a wonderful system at the fire station. Bell 1 rings and we all put on our jackets. Bell 2 rings and we all slide down the pole. Bell 3 rings and we’re ready to go on the trucks.”

“From now on,” he said, “we’re going to run this house the same way.” “When I say Bell 1, I… Read more

    RAFTING

By good fortune, I was able to raft down the Motu River in New Zealand twice during the last year. The magnificent four-day journey traverses…

    • White water rafting looks so exhilarating , but I would not be brave enough to try it. But applaud those who do it. Good blog Tania

    • I have lived for 50 odd years in New Zealand and never once ventured or wished to venture into the world of rafting – so glad you visited us down under – you certainly saw much of the country I have not even visited!

    A BAKERS DOZEN

A New York Christmas Story Retold by S.E. Schlosser Back in the old days, I had a successful bake-shop in Albany. I had a good…

    • Was a lucky number for the baker ever after……just as well he wasn’t suspicious……lesson learnt…….but I don’t think it would wash at my local bakers…..reminds me of the Irish custom of paying for something to the correct amount and being given ten pence or some amount of change back for luck……..wont work in the Supermatkets though….

    • I like and don’t like the lesson in this one. On one hand yes give freely to generate a happy customer but are we then teaching customers to expect more, does the customer become a bully? Why is the baker expected to carry the cost? Life is about being fair to all.

I CAN RELATE TO THE OLD TIMES.

Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the much older lady that she should bring her own grocery bags, because plastic bags…

    • So very true, Tania — – we take so much for granted the ‘conveniences’ we now have — but do not consider
the long-term effects…..think we are all guilty of this – because we have learned to have these
      ‘neccessities’!!

My big gripe is all the ‘unwanted’ paper that comes through my mail box each day — most from sources I#
have never dealt with — the postman has to cart it around and deliver – then I have to dispose of it in the
appropriate recycle box – so the bin men can cart it back to who knows where – to do who knos what!

      Good post.
