Why is the letter ‘W’ in English called ‘double u’, when it should be ‘double v’ ?

Because English is what is called a “Bastard Language” cobbled together from many other languages, Latin and Saxon among others.

I am an Admin on a few facebook groups, and I have set them so that anyone wanting to join the group has to be accepted by a moderator or admin. I briefly vet each persons profile before accepting them into the group.
Can the same thing be done for SC ?

I am organiser on one group here and if a requirement to “vet” applicants is brought in I shall be resigning that position immediately.

How could you vet them though on sc, Admin have a hard enough time vetting new members with limited tools. Years and years ago, admin had tools to check into scammers, now we dont. Only Rob can really check out new members , and he doesnt check them at all .admin just go on, what some scammers tell really. And lets be honest they are not going…
