I remember them but never had to wait in line, however I always checked the change drop and found change which I put into my pocket when I was about 10 +

Yes, Jim – I remember the neighbourhood phone box = and waiting impatiently for
someone to end their conversation so that you could enter and drop your coins in the
box to make your call!!! A luxury at the time to have a phone in your home – let alone
extensions in every room – and before mobile phones!! 🙄
