DIY 2 = Sucks!

First the positive. Yesterday, the thought occurred to me that there’s a saying that goes very roughly along the lines of “music soothes the……..rampaging leffelump”, or similar. So with that in mind, I put a classical music CD on while I painted, it also helps to drown out the swearing! I had it at a sensible volume, so I was surprised, when I went downstairs to throw some rubbish out and my downstairs neighbour opened her door and asked if I was going to be putting the music on when I resumed my labours. I said yes I was, and expected her to ask if I would turn it down, instead of which, she asked if I’d turn it UP! She’d been out there Cuprinol’ing her fence and had thoroughly enjoyed it……and hadn’t heard any swearing! lol.
So far today, I haven’t even been tempted to stand on my pc stool, in fact the only thing I have used it for today, was to put my cheese butty on it while I surveyed yesterdays work. Now I feel pretty certain I’m not gonna get any sympathy for this, but while I was painting round the window yesterday, I upended an open packet of carpet tacks. I know I should’ve picked them up straight away, but I was holding a tray of paint in one hand, and the roller in the other, so I left them there. They couldn’t fall any further, after all. Well, I had bare feet at that point, and I stood nice and squarely on the stoopid tacks, with the result that I jumped back, spraying the coffee in my left hand, all over the window, and fell backwards onto the computer chair, and thus, right onto my damn butty! To add insult to injury, that was the last of the cheese too.
I’m on my lunch break now, then I have to go out and get a new applicator for the Polyfilla. I didn’t clean it yesterday, and it went rock hard. In an attempt to clean it, I clobbered it with a hammer, bending it out of all recognition, so I’ve thrown it. That is to say it PUT it in the bin. If I’d litterally thrown it, with my luck, it would’ve bounced off something and buried itself in the tv! More later….I expect 🙂
