Looking for like minded people to chat to!

Hi,

I’ve joined Senior Chatters as I live alone, which can be isolating at times. I have restricted mobility which means I’m stuck at home a lot. I do drive and my car is my lifeline. I like to chat, but have never felt comfortable in large groups or clubs. Guess I’m a bit of an introvert, but I’m a talkative one in the right setting and with the right people and I have a good sense of humour!

I have a lovely garden and enjoy wildlife and nature. I am a Christian and my faith is important to me, but I’m happy to chat to anyone of all faiths or none! I have four gorgeous grandchildren who I see when I can. My granddaughter has her own horse, Max, and a few weeks ago I had a ride on him, which was amazing. I used to ride when I was much younger and it’s not something you forget. The hardest part was getting up on him thanks to my weak legs; it took three attempts and must have looked hilarious (Max was so patient!) but once I was in the saddle, it was brilliant, and I even managed a trot! I was buzzing after!

I was a graphic designer when I worked and I still use my skills voluntarily when designing a bi monthly newsletter for a local Christian charity. I love playing around with designs; there’s nothing more rewarding than starting off with a blank canvas and filling it with a design. I admire artists who do this, but sadly I don’t have any talent for drawing or painting!

I enjoy listening to audiobooks, especially at night when I can’t sleep, which is most of the time! I was recently given an Alexa for my birthday and I’m enjoying playing music on that. I love how you can ask for specific songs. I have changed my Alexa voice to an Australian male as I didn’t like the boring English woman! I asked him to make me a cup of tea the other day, and he said, ‘I would if I can, but I can’t’! Think I’m losing the plot talking to an AI bot, but that’s what happened when you live alone, conversation is limited!

Right that’s it for now and if anyone has ploughed through my first blog, well done!

    1. Hi Tjay, sorry for my very late reply. I’m still fathoming out the website and didn’t see your comment until just now when I re-read my blog. I wanted to edit it, but can’t work out how!

My horse ride was a one off as I’m not up to it regularly sadly, but maybe I can have an occasional ride every now and again.

How long have you been a member? What part of the country are you from?
