Just a thought on this Tuesday morning

8:23am. I’m sitting in my dining room, looking out the French doors. There’s over 3 feet of snow on the ground. It’s minus 24 Celcius.
I’m looking over to the refrigerator. I’m using energy to keep the food cool.
Reminds me of a joke, something about selling refrigerators to Eskimos.

  1. We’ll David ,you could turn the fridge off and put your food outside in a water proof box ,but they would probably freeze up !
I was in Spain in winter a couple of years ago staying at a hostel near Puerta del Sol , very central ,very nice ,but the room didn’t have a fridge and I had some Meds that needed refrigeration …the guy at the desk gave me the idea to place them outside on the window ledge . Which I did ! Tied up into a plastic bag and tied the string inside to a chair just in case it fell off !
    It worked perfectly lol

  2. David, Sounds lovely, and where are you? Doesn’t sound like your home is built for such cold weather if those french doors are glass and they must be if you are looking out. I wonder what people do if the furnace doesn’t work. I worry about it here and our climate is quite moderate.
If you want to cut blocks of ice to use in the summer, you could dispense with the refrigerator. Naturally it would be messy, unreliable, and a lot of work. So enjoy and feel blessed. I do.
